24/7 callouts

Faults & emergencies.

Lost power? Safety switch that won't stay on? Burning smell from a powerpoint? Call now for fast, calm fault-finding, day or night, without the emergency-rate gouge.

Do this first.

Smoke, flames or someone hurt? Call 000 first.

Call 0481 392 983
  1. Switch it off. Turn off the affected circuit at the switchboard, if you can do so safely.
  2. Keep clear. Never touch scorched or sparking fittings.
  3. Then call 0481 392 983, any hour.

Who to call.

The right number depends on where the fault is. Wrong calls cost time.

What's included.

Electrical faults don't keep business hours. You need a sparky who finds the actual fault instead of guessing: methodical testing, a clear explanation of what failed, and a proper fix, not a band-aid.

  • Loss of power Whole house or one circuit dead. We isolate the fault fast and get you back on.
  • Tripping safety switches An RCD that keeps tripping is telling you something. We find the appliance or wiring fault causing it.
  • Burning smells & scorched points Take these seriously. Turn the circuit off and call. Overheated connections cause house fires.
  • Storm & water damage Make-safes after storms and water in fittings.

Find the real fault. Skip the guesswork.

Only your place is out?

Four checks before you pay for a callout.

  1. Look next door. If the neighbours are dark too, it is the network. Ring your distributor.
  2. Open your switchboard. A safety switch sitting in the off position has tripped.
  3. Unplug what is on that circuit. Switch off or unplug every appliance, then turn the safety switch back on.
  4. Trips again? Leave it off and call 0481 392 983. Something on that circuit is faulty.

What moves the cost of a callout.

You hear the callout cost on the phone before anyone drives. Three things sit behind it.

  • The hour. A callout at 2am costs more than a booked visit on a weekday.
  • How long the fault takes to find. A tripping safety switch can be one bad appliance or a damaged cable inside a wall. Finding it is the job.
  • What has failed. A breaker or an outlet is a quick swap. A burnt switchboard is made safe first and replaced on a second visit.

Questions, answered.

What counts as an electrical emergency?
No power, a safety switch that won't reset, burning smells, buzzing from the switchboard, sparking outlets, or exposed wiring. When in doubt, call. We'll tell you over the phone how urgent it is.
What should I do while I wait?
Turn off the affected circuit at the switchboard if you can do so safely. Never touch scorched or sparking fittings, and keep water away from anything electrical.
Do you charge huge emergency rates?
No gouging. You'll get the callout cost upfront on the phone before we head out.
My power's out. Is it even my problem?
Check if the neighbours are out too. If so, it's likely the grid (call your distributor). If it's just you, it's your installation: call us.
Can I turn the power back on after a flood or a burst pipe?
Not until a licensed electrician has tested the wiring. That is Energy Safe Victoria's instruction for any property water has entered. Appliances that went under stay unplugged as well.
How do I find out which distributor I am with?
Put your postcode into the network locator linked on this page. There are five electricity networks in Victoria and each street belongs to one of them.
