| What is going on | Start here | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The power is out, something smells hot, or a safety switch will not reset | Faults and emergencies | A fault gets found and made safe before anything else is planned. |
| An old fuse box, or the board trips when the oven and air con run together | Switchboard upgrades | The board is the limit on everything else in the house. |
| New points, a fan, a renovation or a rewire | Residential electrical | Everyday work in a house, from one outlet to every cable in it. |
| An electric car in the driveway, or one on order | EV charger installs | The charger, its own circuit and a check of what the board can carry. |
| Dark rooms, hot halogens, or nothing lighting the path to the door | Lighting and LED | Layout first, then fittings, then switching. |
| A shop, cafe, office or workshop | Commercial and fit-outs | Three phase, exit lighting and work timed around trading hours. |
Rules that change what a house or a shop needs from its wiring.
